Community Performances

You might have seen us around town at basketball games, doing our small business spotlight photoshoots, partnering with Blacksburg Country Club to host Clara’s Tea Party, and more!

The Nutcracker Ballet

Our annual production of The Nutcracker has been showcased at Burruss Hall at Virginia Tech and Bondurant Auditorium at Radford University. Most recently we have found our home at the beautiful Moss Arts Center. This year’s shows will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 1:00 and 6:00 pm!

Open Auditions for the 2023 production will be held as follows:

• Monday, September 11 - 4:30-6:15 pm - Experienced Dancers Ages 8-12

• Thursday, September 14 - 6:00-7:45 pm - Experienced Dancers Ages 13+

• Saturday, September 16 - 11:00 am-12:00 pm -Specialty Acts and those new to dance (Acrobats, Martial Artists, etc.)

Field Trips

Blacksburg Ballet has been producing two field trip performances for many years. The field trip is a reduced performance length and cost intended for groups, including homeschool, preschool, college students, daycare facilities, adult care, senior facilities, or any other group that would benefit from this alternate option. In 2023 our field trips will be held on Friday, December 8th at 10:00 am and 12:30 pm at the Moss Arts Center.

World Showcase/Land of the Sweets

Over the years we have expanded to fully honor the cultural traditions of the countries represented in Act 2 of The Nutcracker. We were proud to collaborate with Hill and Veil Bellydance group from Virginia Tech and the Blacksburg Chinese School in 2022. If you are part of a cultural group or know someone who is, please send them our way! We are on a mission to share authentic performance styles from Spain, China, Russia, France, the Arabian Peninsula, and more.
